"DeathCrawl" from Facing the Giants

NEVER GIVE UP!

I can't even begin to describe the soul deep encouragement this gave me this morning.  I have seen this movie before, but this morning I was listening to a sermon and the minister played this as a sound bite at the end of his message.  I felt chills as I heard the driving tempo of the coaches words, "Don't give up! Don't you dare stop! You promised me you’re all! You can do it! I'm counting on you! Don't give up! Just twenty more steps! Just ten more steps! You can do it! I know it hurts! I know he's heavy! Just one more step!" I felt those words deep in my soul. 

So many times I have said the words; this is too much; I'm tired.  I know you have too. But God is asking us to not give up.  He is asking for our all and he is right there cheering us on.  Just wait, at the end, when we are at the edge of despair we will hear the words, "look up...you are at the end zone!"  When we can't go another step God will wipe away our tears and show us that we have reached the finish line.  Then we will be able to say as Paul did in 2 Timothy 4:6-8, "For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing."

I will not give up!  I will not back down!  I will keep the faith!
